Immigration Bonding
Immigration bonding is a specialized service provided by bail bond agents to individuals who are detained by immigration authorities due to potential violations of immigration laws. When someone is arrested by immigration enforcement agencies, they may be held in custody until their immigration status is resolved or until they appear before an immigration judge for a hearing.
There are two types of immigration bonds: delivery bonds and voluntary departure bonds.
Delivery Bonds: A delivery bond allows an individual to be released from immigration custody with the condition that they attend all immigration hearings and comply with any orders issued by the immigration court. This bond is typically set by an immigration judge or the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is often based on factors such as flight risk and ties to the community.
Voluntary Departure Bonds: A voluntary departure bond allows an individual to leave the country voluntarily within a specified period, usually at their own expense. This bond is refundable, meaning that the individual will receive a full refund of the bond amount once they have departed the country as ordered.
